Checking the impact of an oversized load on a prestressed concrete bridge

AIMsight optical measurement system has been deployed to verify that the passage of an oversized truck was not degrading a prestressed concrete bridge on a highway in Switzerland. We took this opportunity to validate the application of our system for weigh-in-motion measurements. Also, the data presented in the video demonstrates that heavy truck traffic —known to accelerate the aging of bridges— can also be leveraged to generate massive and high-value data about bridge structural health. Therefore opening new business opportunities for transportation and logistics companies.
